Reacting to the news of arrests of journalists and personnel related to NewsClick, the U.S. State Department reiterated its assist for the media. Responding to a query on the arrests in addition to the report (from the New York Times) that alleged NewsClick was a part of a Chinese affect operation, Principle Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel mentioned the State Department couldn’t touch upon the “veracity of the claims” that NewsClick had ties to the Chinese Government.
